News Bulletin (Source : Adaderana)
The 19th Amendment to the Constitution was passed with a vast majority in Parliament, a short while ago on Tuesday (28), with the government gaining 212 votes in favour.
Parliament is currently engaged in the committee stage debate on changes to the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. The final vote on the bill is to follow thereafter.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe says they agreed with the opposition proposal to include seven Parliamentarians to the Constitutional council with three non-MPs.
